Thanks to the invention of robot vacuum cleaners, we are finally able to automate tedious tasks such as keeping our houses clean at all times. Robot vacuums in the past used to be expensive and were considered a thing of luxury. But overtime, they have become affordable.

One of the reasons for this is that brands like Roborock are pushing awesome robot vacuums into the market one after another. With each one improving in functionality while still maintaining an affordable price tag.

But one downside of this is that the sheer number of varieties available on the market can be quite confusing for a new buyer. But not to worry, we will be comparing some of the best robot vacuum models Roborock has to offer in this article. Particularly, the Roborock Q5 Pro, Roborock Q8 Max and Roborock Q7 Max

Comparison of Roborock Q5 Pro vs. Q8 Max vs. Q7 Max

Specs Comparison

Vacuuming Performance

When it comes to vacuuming, both the Roborock Q5 Pro and Q8 Max are equipped with powerful fans which are capable of 5500 Pa suction power. This enables them to suck dust, debris or hair pretty easily no matter the surface. The Roborock Q7 Max falls short here with a suction power of just 4200 Pa which will make it harder for it to suck hair on surfaces like a carpet.

Other than that, the Roborock Q5 Pro and Q8 Max also come with the latest DuoRoller Brushes. These brushes will help out immensely in picking up hair when compared to the standard rubber brush found on Roborock Q7 Max.

It is fair to say that the Roborock Q5 Pro and Q8 Max are far superior in vacuuming performance than the Roborock Q7 Max because of their higher suction powers and better brushes.

Roborock Q5 Pro - 5500 Pa + DuoRoller Brush 90%
Roborock Q8 Max - 5500 Pa + DuoRoller Brush 90%
Roborock Q7 Max - 4200 Pa + Standard Brush 65%

🏆 Tie Between Roborock Q5 Pro & Q8 Max

Mopping Performance

For mopping, the Roborock Q8 Max and Q7 Max are installed with pressurized mopping technology. Both of these two robot vacuums are capable of applying about 300g of pressure during mopping. The main reason for doing this is to mimic human-like mopping which results in a better cleaning of tough stains on floors.

Unfortunately, the Roborock Q5 Pro does not come with pressurized mopping which makes it less effective during mopping. For this reason, the Roborock Q8 Max and Q7 Max are considered the superior choices when it comes to mopping performance.

Roborock Q5 Pro - Standard Mopping 70%
Roborock Q8 Max - Pressurized Mopping (~300g) 90%
Roborock Q7 Max - Pressurized Mopping (~300g) 90%

🏆 Tie Between Roborock Q8 Max & Q7 Max

Battery Life

All 3 of the robot vacuums are packed with large capacity batteries of 5200 mAh which enables them to clean for a decent amount of time on a single charge. But despite having similar capacity batteries, their battery life is not the same.

The Roborock Q5 Pro and Q8 max are capable of running up to 4 hours on a single charge which is very impressive. You would expect the Roborock Q7 Max to run for even a longer time because of its low suction power but that is not the case. The Roborock Q7 Max is only capable of running up to 3 hours on a single charge which is still not that bad but it doesn’t compare to the other 2 robot vacuums.

So it is clear to say that the Roborock Q5 Pro and Q8 Max beats the Roborock Q7 Max by a decent margin in the battle for best battery life.

Roborock Q5 Pro - Up to 4 Hours 95%
Roborock Q8 Max - Up to 4 Hours 95%
Roborock Q7 Max - Up to 3 Hours 70%

🏆 Tie Between Roborock Q5 Pro & Q8 Max

Dustbin Capacity

The dustbin capacity determines how often you need to empty it so the robot vacuum can function smoothly. The Roborock Q5 Pro comes with a very impressive dustbin capacity of 770 ml which means it can run for a long time before you have to empty its dustbin compartment.

On the other side, the Roborock Q8 Max and Q7 Max comes with a comparatively smaller dustbin capacity of 470 ml. This means you will have to clear the dustbin compartment of those two robot vacuums more often.

Roborock Q5 Pro - 770 ml 95%
Roborock Q8 Max - 470 ml 70%
Roborock Q7 Max - 470 ml 70%

🏆 Winner: Roborock Q5 Pro

Water Tank Capacity

The Roborock Q8 Max and Q7 Max are equipped with a decent water tank of 350 ml enabling them to clean large floors without having to be refilled again. The Roborock Q5 Pro on the other hand comes with a smaller water tank of just 180 ml.

So when it comes to mopping floors, the Roborock Q8 Max and Q7 Max’s water tanks will last for a very long time even on larger floors. While the Roborock Q5 Pro will have to be refilled with water again from time to time if it is used to mop a large floor.

Roborock Q5 Pro - 180 ml 65%
Roborock Q8 Max - 350 ml 90%
Roborock Q7 Max - 350 ml 90%

Navigation & Mapping

All 3 of the robot vacuums use LDS laser navigation sensors to get around and create a 3D model of your house. They come with useful features such as creating invisible walls (no-go zones), multi-level mapping and much more.

However, the Roborock Q8 Max has a major advantage over the other two robot vacuums because it is equipped with obstacle avoidance. This allows it to detect objects lying on the ground and avoid bumping into them. This results in a comparatively longer life span of the robot vacuum.

Roborock Q5 Pro - LDS Laser Navigation 70%
Roborock Q8 Max - LDS Laser Navigation + Obstacle Avoidance 90%
Roborock Q7 Max - LDS Laser Navigation 70%

Roborock Q5 Pro

What can I say? I LOVE this robot vacuum! I can't believe I spend so much time in doubt of what the robot vacuums can do. I think this is the PERFECT MODEL if you have never had any robot vacuums before, and personally I think this has everything you need. I only purchased the robot vacuum (without the self emptying station) as I think $200 dlls. more are not worth it just to "save" you the task of removing the dust collector and emptying it in the trash can by yourself. It only takes you 10 seconds to do it, so you should really think about it. Other than that, everything works perfect! Best purchased ever!

The first vac’s we ever got was an older model of this brand. After the one we had worn down we picked up a different brand. It was a disappointment. After we got tired of that one we toss it. It didn’t last be a few months. The next one was a top brand but it was also a problem. But luckily we stop trying to replace the one that lasted for a few years. And we are back to the best one we have ever had. Works great.

I got the robot vacuum when it came out. Back then, they were almost useless, but now after trying this one, I can say they are so useful now. This vacuum is really smart, and the mobile app is really easy and useful.

I will say this product worked so much better than I even expected. Even when you think your floors are clean, this robot maps out your house and does just about every inch. I'm very happy with it... I have it for about a month.

Best money I have spent in a long time! I have two very fluffy cats and was struggling to keep up with their hair. Had purchased a different unit with less power that just rode right over the hair on carpet. Love the mapping this unit has + use of app. I would highly recommend this product!

Roborock Q7 Max

5/5
I researched Robotic vacuums for ages. When I finally got fed up with my cheap version, I made the plunge. I have no regrets. I bought this for the suction power and I have not been disappointed. This vacuum goes over thresholds and over areas my other cheap vacuum simply died after getting stuck. I spent most of my time finding the old one and putting it back to work. It did not pick up pet hair on my rug. The Roborock does a fantastic job. The Roborock Q8 Max was easy to set up. Setting boundaries was a breeze. This vacuum has done all that is required. I would definitely recommend it.

I am very pleased with my purchase of the Q8. I chose this one for several reasons. The main reason is had a good review in Consumer reports. This vac is white. I had an issue with my last one being black and leaving marks on my baseboards. It has good reviews in here and deservedly so. After using it for a week, my only complaint is in the instructions manual. It could have been written better with more detailed information, but I got through that. I love the longer battery run time on this model. Although it cleans my whole house in around 100 minutes, it's a good thing to have. I love the fact that this model has stronger suction than most, and it even has an optional feature that will use extra suction when it is cleaning carpet. It runs seamlessly over rugs, carpet, ceramic tile and wood floors. The double roller brush picks up everything in it's path. Definitely a solid purchase!

I love that you can select different rooms and zones and how many times you wanted to go over them… Although not perfect, this thing works really well! Easily picks up bigger crumbs and cereal and barely misses anything. Love the mopping feature also! The pad always end up dirty and the floor feels better. You would still want to do a deep manual, mopping job once in a while, but this keeps it much much better on a day-to-day basis!

I think that the Roborock brand is the best in robot vacuum cleaners field. I bought this for my second floor - three bedrooms carpets, deep cleaning - obvious difference. I have no regrets whatsoever. Connection of the second device was a breeze. I am happy with my second investment in my floor cleaning devices.

Roborock Q8 Max

5/5
This is my 4th robot vacuum and mop and this is the best I've seen for a reasonable amount of money. The tangle free roller is j just that no more digging long hair out of it every time it's used. The navigation is spot on no more erratic behavior or running into walls and getting lost! The cleaning patterns are great no missed spots! I guess you've got to kiss 3 frogs before you find the prince! At least in my case!

It arrived in a very nice package. The instruction is very good and easy to connect. After connecting the phone to it pretty much just turns it on and lets it map out the floor first. The unit is very quiet and does a good job. I am very happy with the way it cleans and now I don’t need to manually vacuum daily. I’m very satisfied with the purchase.

Got this a while ago but decided to leave a review as I am so pleased I made the purchase. I haven't yet integrated it to Alexa as I am just happy with it doing its thing for now. The power on it is perfectly adequate for what I need it for which is essentially dog hair! It's not as quiet as I had hoped but that's not a major issue. It is remarkable how it plans out the room, mapping it and then going about its business while you do something else. The dog isn't a fan of it but then he doesn't like the Dyson either! If you're thinking about getting one of these machines, it's worth the investment and saves time.

Bought this little guy during a Black Friday sale. It’s is absolutely amazing. We have a 3k sqft home and each floor is programed as its own zone. The robot can do two floors on a single charge. We have a Blue Heelers that sheds about average for a dog I would say but enough where we like to run the robot two or three times a week. Highly recommended!!

I did a lot of research into which robot vacuum to get and finally settled on this one. I am very happy with my choice. The app is great - incredibly useful for spot cleaning and the tracking is super neat. I feel like it gets everywhere that it can reasonably go. We have 2 dogs that shed a good amount and we’ve really noticed a difference. I haven’t used the mop feature much but I imagine it works similarly to the vacuum option. Overall I’m very pleased with this product.
