SpotClean Pro vs. Little Green Pro Spec Comparison

Specs & Price Comparison

Suction & Cleaning Power

Bissell SpotClean Pro and Bissell Little Green Pro Suction

So, how do these two handle stubborn stains? Honestly, pretty well. Both come with a 5.7-amp motor (that’s roughly 684 watts), which gives them solid suction power for their size. Spilled coffee, muddy footprints, mystery couch smudges, they can handle it.

The SpotClean Pro comes with a 3-inch Tough Stain Tool that’s great for zeroing in on small messes. The Little Green Pro has the same 3-inch tool, despite what you might’ve seen online, it doesn’t come with a 6-inch brush. I double-checked.

In terms of suction, they’re neck and neck. The real difference is in the tools. The SpotClean Pro’s got an extra attachment or two that can give you a bit more flexibility. Not a dealbreaker, but it’s a slight win if you want options.

Tank Capacity & Reach

Bissell SpotClean Pro and Bissell Little Green Pro Tank Capacity

How long can you clean before needing a refill break? Both the SpotClean Pro and Little Green Pro come with 96 oz clean and dirty water tanks, plenty of room to handle a good-sized mess without constantly running to the sink.

You’re also getting a 5-foot hose and a 22-foot power cord on both, which is super handy. Whether you’re tackling carpeted stairs or reaching into the far corners of your SUV, you’ve got enough length to move around without unplugging every two minutes.

At the end of the day, it’s pretty much a tie here, same tank size, same reach. No clear winner, just solid performance from both.

Portability & Design

Bissell Little Green Pro Size

If you’re going to be carrying this thing around, size and weight definitely matter. The SpotClean Pro weighs in at 13.2 lbs and measures about 10 x 14 x 14 inches, not huge, but it’s got a bit of bulk to it. The Little Green Pro is just a tad lighter at 13 lbs and shaped a bit differently, taller and slimmer at 8.2 x 17.2 x 12.5 inches.

That slight difference actually helps. The Little Green is easier to grab and carry, especially if you’re hauling it up stairs, out to the car, or just tucking it away in a closet. It feels a bit more grab-and-go, while the SpotClean Pro leans more on the sturdy side.

If portability’s a top priority, the Little Green’s probably the one you’ll want by your side.

Bissell SpotClean Pro ToolsTools & Versatility

When it comes to cleaning, the right tool can make all the difference, especially for those awkward spots. The SpotClean Pro comes ready with a 3-inch Tough Stain Tool and a 6-inch Stair Tool, which is super handy for tackling steps, car seats, or any area that isn’t just a flat surface.

The Little Green Pro keeps things simple with just the 3-inch tool. It still gets the job done, especially on couches and rugs, but it doesn’t come with any extras out of the box.

If you like having a few more options for tricky angles or bigger areas, the SpotClean definitely gives you more to work with.

Noise & Drying

Bissell Little Green Pro Noise and Drying

Let’s be real, nobody wants to feel like they’re vacuuming next to a jet engine or waiting forever for a soggy carpet to dry. The SpotClean Pro runs at around 84 dB, which is about as loud as a spirited conversation. The Little Green Pro comes in slightly quieter at 82 dB, more like background chatter at a coffee shop.

It’s not a huge difference, but if you’re sensitive to noise (or cleaning while someone’s napping), the Little Green’s a bit easier on the ears.

As for drying time, you’re looking at around 2 to 4 hours with either one, depending on how heavy-handed you go with the water. Cracking a window, running a fan, or blotting with a towel definitely speeds things up.

So, in the battle for a little more peace and quiet, the Little Green takes a slight win.

Things You Should Know Before Buying

Drying Time: Both leave carpets damp for ~2-4 hours—grab a fan or crack a window to cut that down. Wetness depends on how trigger-happy you get!

Power Consumption: They sip ~0.5-0.6 kWh per use (say, 20-30 mins)—that’s ~$0.08-$0.09 at $0.15/kWh. Not a budget buster, but good to know.

Ease of Use: Tanks pop off easy, but filling and dumping’s a two-hand job—practice makes it smooth. First-timers might fumble a bit.

Basically, they are both very similar vacuum cleaners with very little difference. PetPro might be more suitable for pet owners with its attachments, but if you don’t own any hairy pets, then you don’t have to pay extra for the Bissell SpotClean PetPro.

Our Pick

After digging into the details, we’re giving the win to the Bissell Little Green Pro (2505). It’s lighter, easier to carry, and just a bit quieter, making it the go-to pick for quick cleanups around the house or in the car without turning it into a whole workout.

The SpotClean Pro definitely has its perks, especially that 6-inch tool for stairs or larger surfaces. If you’re tackling big messes often, it’s a solid choice. But for most people who just want something reliable, compact, and easy to stash, the Little Green Pro gets the job done with less hassle.

It’s the cleaner you’re more likely to reach for, and that alone makes it the winner in our book.

Bissell SpotClean Pro Reviews

I purchased my Spotclean on Amazon over a year ago (6/2013). It has worked almost flawlessly for my intended purpose. I use it to clean my carpeted stairs, stained carpet areas, upholstered chairs, and even my car interior rugs. I also just used my Spotclean to 'clean' up the mess left behind by my decrepit Bissell Proheat 2X steam cleaner. It had left awful dirt streaks everywhere. With the help of my 3 year old, we used the Spotclean to clean up the dirt streaks. The SpotClean is relatively easy to use and requires a little less effort to pull out, assemble and clean up than my Bissell Proheat 2X (which is being replaced). The suction on the hand tool is excellent. However, it DOES require a bit of hand force to extract the water. I don't mind because I want the area to dry quicker. Also, you will have to use your hand to scrub the carpet a bit if your stain is stubborn. I think some people may have unrealistic expectations concerning these machines. A hand tool does require your 'hand'. So, I consider these efforts minimal to achieve my desired results. The SpotClean has cleaned approximately 90% of the stains I have attempted to clean. I have a husband, 3 teenagers, a 3 year old, and a Cairn Terrier. So, I consider this a small feat. I have NOT used it to clean blood, wine, or ink. I really need to get a new upright steam cleaner because I can always tell where I've used my SpotClean because the area is lighter than the surrounding carpet. This is because the SpotClean did its job. The SpotClean is compact and easy to move around. It is compact enough to sit on standard stairs without toppling over. It has a bit of weight when the chambers are filled but not enough to cause fatigue by my standards. I am a 5'3 woman, and I don't lift weights. Some mentioned the desire for a longer hose and a retractable and/or longer cord. However, I think the hose length is adequate since you can easily move the SpotClean from Point A to Point B. If it is too long, then it is unmanageable to re-coil, then you would have another set of complaints from people. Also, if the cord length was longer, it would take more time than I care to spend to wrap it up. A retract feature would be one more thing to break and then we would really complain. Regarding the noise, it is louder than I would prefer but it may be just as loud as a standard vacuum cleaner. It does not bother me enough to do sound comparisons since I am just cleaning spots. I think the SpotClean cleans a decent area on one fill up. I admit, I do more 'area' cleaning than spot cleaning sometimes. Once you have taken the time to pull it out and assemble, you want to clean ALL the spots you see. If you are doing a full set of stairs, it will definitely require 2 fill ups. I pour the dirty water down the toilet instead of my laundry sink. I recommend rinsing the hand tool and the water chambers when you finish a job. I try to let the chambers dry overnight before re-assembling to put away. However, I have left the water chamber with the cleaning solution and water between uses without any problems. You will also need to spot check for lint build up on the red filter that is covered by the water chamber. You can wipe off the lint easily. These are all just precautionary steps to reduce 'yuck' build-up and musty smells. Remember that carpet cleaning is a dirty job. No matter how convenient the machine is, we still have to clean the filth collected from our handy little devices. My last recommendation is to use the recommended Bissell cleaning solution. It smells wonderful!!!! A little is all you need. Do not use more than recommended. As a matter of fact, I use a little less because I do not want excess shampoo in my carpet.

We used to have a Bissell SpotBot, and used it frequently, due to two young children constantly making messes. However, after the first few uses, we stopped using the automated feature of the SpotBot, because it uses a TON of shampoo, and cleaning up spills and stains with the hand tool took a fraction of the time anyway. The SpotClean Pro has a more compact footprint than the SpotBot, which is nice for storage. It also has more suction, which seems to do a better job of sucking all of the solution out of the carpet or upholstery, so everything dries faster. This also means that it should suck more of the stains out. I also much prefer the hose storage of the SpotClean Pro, compared to the SpotBot, which required wrapping the hose around the base of the unit, which inevitably caused tangles with the cord while trying to put it away. One of my favorite features though is the ability to thoroughly clean the recovery tank. The recovery tank on the SpotBot got NASTY...and there is no way to clean it out, because the only way to get to the inside is through the dump hole in the bottom. On the SpotClean Pro, the whole lid comes off, and there aren't really any nooks or crannies for gunk to hide in. Also, both the solution storage tank and the recovery tanks are MUCH larger than on the SpotBot, so you can get more cleaned with fewer trips to the bathroom to dump and refill. I do have a couple complaints about this unit though...it's rather heavy to lug around, and it's so loud that I have started wearing ear plugs while cleaning spots to prevent hearing damage. If you can get beyond that though, it gets an A+ for performance. General comment on carpet shampooing: Carpet shampoo attracts dirt, which causes stains. Use half of the manufacturer's recommended concentration of shampoo and you should notice less recurring stains, with little or no loss of cleaning power. Better yet, do a rinse step after shampooing to remove the shampoo from the carpet.

Ever since hand held rug cleaners were put on the market I believed I've always had one, and this one by far is the best I have yet owned! Let me get straight to the point of my header because that's why you're reading this review! It's been my experience that it doesn't matter what make or model portable rug/upholstery cleaners in in terms of your hose & nozzle head getting clogged. Especially I f you own pets, fur is going to jam it up every time. It also doesn't matter If you are cleaning a runner or a large area rug. It's just the nature of the beast. Nozzle heads usually don't need replacing but they get gross & I've tried everything to clean them. Then often you will find that if you can find a hose that the manufacturer hasn't discontinued, good for you! If not, it is expensive. I figured this tip out years ago when my husband & I could not even afford a hose. We took the whole machine apart. Not only was the base of the hose clogged with fur & other gunk, it extended far into the interior. So, if you think replacing the hose will completely solve your problem, think again. We then of course killed the machine! So far, for over at least ten years this has been MY full proof method. Before you begin cleaning, fill a bucket with tap water, cold or hot. If you don't have the strength to carry that like me, just fill it 1/4 of the way & refill 1/4 of the way & add water when needed. As you are cleaning, every 5 minutes are so, put the nozzle into the bucket of water and make sure it is running freely through the hose. If it's not, keep pumping water through until it does. After you clean your rug, do it once more. This little bit of upkeep will save you money and a ton of frustration. As to this Bissel, many of you probably don't understand why others rave about the solution tank having a flat bottom. Once you've had flat, you never go back! This machine has great suction. Don't stop passing over the area once you no longer see the foam, that's when you will really see the dirt come up! It's design makes it very compact which makes it easy to store and pleasant to look at! One last tip. I purchased the kit for pets. Because of what they track inside, I use both pretreatment solutions. I have been using about 1/3 of the recommended amount of shampoo. By using all 3, your rug will definitely get clean & definitely save you a lot of time sucking up foam. For such messes, I recommend hot water for both the tank & the bucket for obvious reasons! I highly recommend this Bissel SpotClean for upholstery and small to medium rugs!

LIKES: I just did my couch & ottoman & using this machine took way less time & energy that Resolving, hand scrubbing, & vacuuming in three separate steps. It literally cuts out the steps completely as it’s all in one! It was very easy to use & I wish I’d had it this whole time as there are a few stains on the ottoman that I’ve noticed lighten a great deal but may be beyond removing at this point. I love the smell of the Bissell cleaner that comes with the machine. At fifteen dollars for a bottle it seems expensive, but you use only a capful, so in the long run it’s really no big deal. I did notice the machine sucked up teensy crumbs & dog hair as well, which is nice, however if I didn’t vacuum regularly I think the hose would’ve clogged from the hair. So in the event that your couch is covered in it, I’d vacuum first, then use this. I like the brushes, the bristles seems to do a good job getting out dirt & grime. However, be advised they have to be held at a certain angle & for the vacuum to work. DISLIKES: My biggest gripe with this machine & my Bissell vacuum are the plastic hoses they include. They’re not very durable. As such, I’d advise anyone purchasing a Bissell machine to be very careful with the hose. Don’t bend it or twist it more than necessary while cleaning. Meanwhile make sure you’ve got a warranty! This machine came with a two year warranty. Be advised the brush heads have triggers on the underside that spray the soapy water. The trigger can be a bit annoying as it’s pretty easy to accidentally hit it again while just intending to vacuum. I was a bit let down by the vacuum feature as I’d hoped it would leave the furniture drier. Unfortunately for as much of the soapy water & dirt & grime as it sucked up, it does leave your upholstery damp. I’m assuming that it will take anywhere from two to four hours to dry. I expect the couch to dry faster, as I had more stains on the ottoman & therefore used more solution. IN CONCLUSION: Despite my dislikes, after using it I’d say I think this machine is worth it if only due the amount of time & energy it saves by washing, scrubbing, & vacuuming all at once. Do I think this machine is necessary? No of course not. You can do just as good a job by hand with a scrub brush & a basic vacuum. However it is much more time consuming doing it the old fashioned way. So if you’ve opportunity to treat yourself, if you’ve dogs or kids that are constantly making messes, if you’re over the time & energy spent cleaning by hand, perhaps get yourself one of these or a similar model. I give it four stars.

Bissell Little Green Pro Reviews

I have the larger green machine for my carpets, and it works great. So, I didn't hesitate to order this smaller version for my upholstered furniture. I purchased it in December of 2023 and it is now June of 2024 and I use this all of the time. It is effective on cleaning stains and removing odors as well as just freshening things up. It is light-weight and easy to set up and operate. We have two small dogs -- one is perfectly housebroken and very well behaved. The other one not so much. We had gotten her a few months before and THOUGHT she was ready to be allowed up on the couch. We were sadly mistaken. I was very worried because my furniture is still pretty new. Even though I had a thick blanket on the couch, some of the urine had gone through. This machine definitely saved the day. I cleaned it thoroughly, let it air dry, and repeated the cleaning the next day, just for good measure. I was a bit concerned that the brush head might be too rough on the fabric (it is a light grey in color and has a sort of velvety texture). But there was no problem with fading and no damage at all. There is no stain or smell -- I used the deep-clean antibacterial solution that was included with purchase. If I had only used it that one time, I would have considered my purchased to be more than worth the rather modest price. But, I have since used it many times and it still looks new and works just fine. I've used it to clean small areas of carpet when I didn't really need to get my full-sized carpet cleaner out. I've used it to freshen up our pet beds in between taking the covers off and laundering them. I've used it on the floor and seats in our vehicles. In fact, my daughter is using it on her mattress right now (spilled glass of iced tea). Clean up was a bit tricky the first time but now it goes very smoothly (I did watch the informative video from just a dad). I'm so happy I found this and it has saved me the time, hassle and money over renting a carpet cleaning machine for an emergency clean up.

I have never owned a carpet cleaner or pet spot cleaner so I have nothing to compare it to BUT as a pet owner of many years (and many messes), this little Bissel has changed the game. The dreaded cleaning of messes is now "I know what to do and let's get to it." I was worried about where to store it but the compact size makes it easy to put on the shelf in the wash room. It came with sample size cleaning solution which works well. It's not quiet so I wear earplugs when using. No wheels but if needed could set it on a plant roller if you have multiple spots to treat and don't want to lift it. Anyone looking for the perfect gift for a pet loving loved one should consider this!!! SUMMARY: Works amazingly well and quick! (most stains gone in 1-2 minutes...maybe more for set in?) Comes with sample size cleaning solution and INSTRUCTIONS that you can understand Nice Compact size and a place to wrap cord for easy storage Solution tank easy to fill Dirty water tank a bit funky to empty (I found laying it on flat side does the job) Loud but that means it has good suction and is working! (wear earplugs)

I purchased this little miracle worker back in March of 2022, and it’s still going strong, tackling every pet accident and spill with impressive ease. Performance: Imagine this: your furry friend has a little "oops" moment, or your morning coffee decides to take a detour onto the carpet. Panic? Not anymore! With the SpotClean Pro, I've managed to erase every stain without breaking a sweat. I usually get to the mess within 24 hours so I haven't tackled old stains, but this machine has yet to meet a stain it can't conquer in my home. Professional Touch: As the owner of a cleaning business, I've put this machine to the test in various settings. One memorable moment was using it to clean a customer's sofa. The result? Absolutely beautiful. Brush Attachments: Now, let’s talk about those brush attachments. I did end up replacing mine, but only because they tackled some truly gnarly messes and I felt it was more sanitary to swap them out before using them at a client's home. Fresh brushes, fresh start! Versatility: I’ve thrown all sorts of cleaning chemicals at this machine—Bissell, other brands, you name it. And guess what? Every single one has worked like a charm. This tells me that the magic lies in the machine itself. It’s not quite as powerful as a commercial-grade extractor but it does get the job done. Watching all that dirty water being sucked out of the carpet is oddly satisfying. Compact Design: And can we talk about the design? It’s relatively compact and fits perfectly in the cubby in my mudroom. It’s like Bissell knew exactly what I needed. No more lugging around a giant machine or finding storage space for bulky equipment. Durability: After over two years of solid use, this little powerhouse is still going strong. It's seen countless pet accidents, food spills, and beverage catastrophes, and it just keeps going. Did I mention it cleaned the interior of my teenage son's vehicle? In short, if you have pets, kids, run a cleaning business, or are just a bit of a klutz (like me), the Bissell SpotClean Pro Portable is an absolute game-changer. It's easy to use, compact, and incredibly effective. Say goodbye to stubborn stains and hello to a cleaner, happier home!

Easy to setup and use. It works surprisingly well. The two attachments have different uses, the smaller one more for upholstery with pliant brushes and the larger for carpets with more aggressive brushes. I tried both. Upholstery cleaning came out well on several types of couches and fabrics, one of which probably hadn't been cleaned in decades. No pets, so no such issues. Carpet cleaning was less successful, probably because of the nature of the dirt/stain. It tried. One star was taken off for leakage. The unit has a clean water tank, which drains downward, and a dirty water tank, which fills from the top. The clean water tank simply rests in a cradle on the main unit ... and somewhere between that cradle and the unit's base it leaks. Piddles. Usually only when the unit is on. Fortunately, it's clean water, but I cannot easily see where it is coming from. The clean tank upper and lower stoppers are on hand tight, don't think its there. So I have to keep the whole unit in a tub or on a baking sheet to stop if from making a mess everywhere. I suppose I could return/exchange it, but the unit does work and it's more of an inconvenience than a major problem.
