Compare Ninja DualBrew vs. Ninja DualBrew Pro

Specs & Price Comparison

Brew Styles & Versatility

Ninja DualBrew Pro Brew Styles

Brew styles are what really set the tone for your coffee experience. The Ninja DualBrew keeps it simple with 3 options: Classic (smooth), Rich (bold), and Over Ice (strong for iced drinks), great for your everyday coffee needs.

The DualBrew Pro, though, takes it up a notch with the Specialty brew, which gives you a 4-oz espresso-style concentrate. This is perfect for using with the frother to whip up some lattes or cappuccinos.

If you’re all about mixing things up, the Pro definitely takes the win for variety.

Features & Extras

Ninja DualBrew Pro Features

Extras can really make a difference, and here’s where things get interesting. The DualBrew keeps it simple with a fixed side reservoir—nothing fancy, but it gets the job done every time.

The DualBrew Pro, though, steps it up with a fold-away frother, a hot water dispenser (Hot ~175°F, Boil ~195°F), and a movable reservoir that you can set on either side or in the rear. If flexibility is your thing, the Pro’s got the edge hands down.

Size & Design

Ninja DualBrew Size

Space on your counter can be precious, so size does matter. The DualBrew is a bit slimmer and lighter (11.18 x 9.08 x 15.4 in, 9 lbs), plus it keeps things simple with easy-to-use LED buttons.

The DualBrew Pro is just a little larger (11.39 x 9.13 x 15.54 in, 9.69 lbs), but it brings a more modern vibe with a sleek touchscreen dial. If you’re after something compact, the DualBrew definitely takes the win in this department.

Brew Performance & Speed

Ninja DualBrew Speed

Both the DualBrew and DualBrew Pro run at 1550W, so they both brew up solid coffee every time, whether you’re using grounds (8-55 oz) or pods (6-12 oz) to fill that 12-cup glass carafe. Pods take about 1-2 minutes, while grounds will take a bit longer, around 3-4 minutes. The Pro brings in a Specialty brew for that concentrated espresso-style punch, but when it comes to speed, they’re pretty much tied. Unless you’re craving that espresso vibe, they’re equal on the quickness front.

Power & Setup

Ninja DualBrew Setup

When it comes to power and prep, there are a couple of things you should know. The DualBrew uses about 0.5-0.6 kWh/day (think 3-4 cups), while the DualBrew Pro’s extra features bump it up to around 0.6-0.7 kWh/day. Not a huge difference, but worth noting. Both machines need to sit upright for 24 hours before their first use (according to the manuals) to settle everything inside. Skip this step, and you might notice a dip in performance. In terms of overall efficiency, the DualBrew takes the win.

Things to Consider Before Buying

Brew Time: If you’re in a rush (aka every weekday morning), pods are your best friend, done in about 1–2 minutes. Brewing with grounds takes a little longer, around 3–4 minutes, but still faster than most Keurigs warming up.

Power Use: Not a huge deal, but worth noting.  Based on average electricity rates (~$0.15/kWh), the DualBrew will cost you around $0.08–$0.09 a day to run, while the Pro is a tiny bit more at $0.09–$0.11. It adds up if you’re brewing constantly, but for most people, it’s a small difference.

Setup Tip: Don’t skip this. Let your machine sit upright for 24 hours before using it (yep, even if you’re excited). It helps prevent pump problems and makes sure your first brew doesn’t go sideways. Learned this the hard way.

Our Pick

After putting both to the test, the Ninja DualBrew Pro (CFP301) definitely comes out on top. Its Specialty brew, built-in frother, and hot water dispenser open up a world of lattes, cappuccinos, and tea, all while still delivering great drip coffee. If you love variety, the Pro’s got you covered. The DualBrew is a solid pick for those who want something simple and budget-friendly, but for most coffee lovers, the Pro’s extra features are worth the price bump.

Tons of features. Takes a few minutes to figure them out but it's a very versatile coffee machine with several functions. Great for rental homes if you include an instruction sheet on the features because it offers a lot of options. If it's for your everyday use you'll love it too. The hot water option that bypasses the coffee lines is an advantage. There are several coffee modes and sizes with an added bonus of being able to brew a pot of coffee OR use a K-cup. The frother has good power and froths well, but it's not heated. The wording is tricky in the amazon description, but it only froths the milk, it doesn't heat it. Overall, I'm very happy with this. It's not as simple as some other machines but has such a variety of features that it's worth the few minutes it takes to learn about its functions. Very happy.

It's significantly better than a Keurig; I'm truly impressed. The automatic brewing feature is fantastic. The built-in frother, permanent filter, and easy switching between pods and carafe are all wonderful features. The improved coffee taste is readily apparent. The classic, rich, iced, and specialty settings are a thoughtful addition. I must admit, I find myself happily watching it brew my morning coffee.

I've been using Keurigs for many years but when I ran across the CFP301 on sale, I was intrigued enough to give it a try. I really liked how you could set so many brew sizes and the ability to brew 1/4 carafe if I wanted a few cups without having to make two individual cups. I actually planned to use it mostly with reusable pods, like I've always done with my Keurigs, so I ordered a set that would work with this machine (most will not). The pods I bought look to be good quality, but I've never used them. I've been using pods for so long it never clicked that with a machine like this, using reusable pods makes no sense whatsoever. Just use a regular filter, add your coffee and set the brew size to the size cup you want. But there's more. Much more. With a Keurig or other pod-style machine, you are limited by the size of the pod. They can work a little magic by slow-walking the brew for a travel mug, but it was always weaker than a standard cup and there was little you could do to remedy it except for maybe brewing two pods into one cup. With the Ninja, I can simply adjust the amount of coffee and select the desired brew size. Done. Delicious. This machine, like all of the Ninja products I own, is well engineered. The moveable tank is a fantastic idea and is easy to use. The flip-down cup holder? Awesome! The foldable frother? Very cool, and the way you can just pop it off over the cup to take it to the sink is slick. Even the "smart" scoop is a very nice touch. Everything is so easy to use and convenient. The carafe is well designed and easy to clean. The insert for the carafe ensures the hottest coffee is circulated from the bottom up. Nice! I've had no issues with the temperature of my coffee. It has been nice and hot every time and the hot plate under the carafe makes sure it stays that way. When using a thermal travel mug, I'll either let it cool for a few minutes or plop a small piece of ice into it. It's hot. For filters, I am using Melitta #4 and folding the seams as recommended by Ninja. These are affordable, especially if you buy them in multi-packs. The result is delicious, ground-free coffee. I've read several reviews complaining about grounds in their coffee, but they don't mention their particular setup. Are they using a permanent filter? Pods? I don't know, but I'm not getting any and I'm not sure how I could using the paper filters. As for any negatives, which I feel compelled to include in any review, the only things I can think of are insignificant. The build quality is great, but it is a lot of plastic. For the price-point, it's definitely as good as I think one could reasonably expect. As long as it holds up to plenty of use, it looks good, works very well and I'm happy with it. I do wish there was a little capacitor to power the clock temporarily during brief power outages or if you unplug it for a few minutes. This is a tiny complaint, but I already have two other clocks on other appliances in my kitchen and it's a minor nuisance having to reset all these clocks every time the power blips. I haven't had the machine long enough to do a long-term review but if anything changes, I will update my review. So far, I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it. Edit (11/2023): I've been using this coffee maker for five months now, and I would now be lost without it. I absolutely love the versatility. My most recent development was to dig out my old 34 oz. French press, which fits nicely under the filter basket. For the best, boldest coffee, I measure the proper amount of coffee into the press and add 24 oz. of hot water from the Ninja for my normal 2 12 oz. cups. Easiest way ever to use the press. If I need a whole pot or just quick cup, I just brew like normal. If someone has a favorite K-cup, the insert works as expected. Selecting the brew size for coffee or water has been consistent and accurate. I really, really love this coffee maker.

Second one; first failed but was under warranty after about 3 years. This machine is the bomb! Just get it, worth the cost and can make payments. The K-cup part works great and if you need a bunch of coffee quickly, you can use the carafe which stays hot as the pad it sits in gets warm to keep it warm, Also, it has a great frothier attached on the side; easy to twist off to clean and twist back on. We use a powdered creamer so it works perfectly! My favorite feature is that it can make ICED COFFEE! Now I can have a mocha frappe regularly, 👍! Another great feature, one can turn a knob on the side and put a cup under the K-cup part—-can set it for hot water! (Then move the side knob back where the coffee bean icon is for coffee again). You can set water to “hot” or “boiling” also. This is great for making hot tea when one is sick or just for those who are tea-drinkers more. Also, we make hot chocolate easily by putting the water over the powder in packet (alternatively, you could use the k-cup type of hot cocoa). Works very smoothly and is user-friendly.

Ninja DualBrew Pro Reviews

I love ninja products because they're always great quality. I don't know what happened here but I bought two and one of them did not work. The one that does work is absolutely wonderful and I love it. As far as the return goes I would have rather had an exchange, but it requires me to ship it back and buy a new one. If I wait for them to get it back and return my money, it could take up to two weeks maybe longer. Then I have to place my order again if they're still in stock. Otherwise I have to front the cash and wait for the return. Just a reality of online purchases. This was an "EXCELLENGT" refurbished product so I knew there was a chance of failure.----- UPDATE... I live more than an hour from a UPS drop off center and the seller would/did not send a USPS LABEL. Amazon filed a claim for a full refund and I ordered another one for replacement. So.... not overly joyed, but aliexpress doesn't have this model. :0)

I've been eyeing this machine for a while in stores and snatched it up when I saw the much cheaper price. Works just as expected and I love it. My only complaint is it didn't come with the integrated scooper and when I messaged the seller they kept asking me to return the entire machine when I was asking them to simply send me the missing part - the scooper. After repeated requests to only send the scooper and that I didn't need to return the entire machine because it was missing one part. The seller eventually offered me a partial refund which I accepted.

I was hesitant buying something that wasn’t brand new but I wanted to save some money. We’ve had no issues so far and the product has worked great. One small plastic piece came broken but it wasn’t a piece that is detrimental to the product and my husband glued it back on. Worth buying renewed and saving money because ninja products are built well. I saw a lot of reviews about people mentioning the missing spoon. The post clearly states it does not come with a spoon. We just use a regular table spoon to scoop our coffee and I don’t think a spoon should be a deciding factor for a great product
