Weight

Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Weight

Weight can make or break your cleaning experience—because let’s be real, nobody wants to wrestle a bulky machine around the house! The Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution keeps things light at 17.5 lbs, making it a breeze to glide around furniture or haul up the stairs without feeling like you just hit the gym.

The Shark CarpetXpert, on the other hand, comes in at 18.45 lbs, —not a huge difference on paper, but trust me, after a deep-cleaning session, you’ll feel that extra weight.

If mobility is a big deal for you, Bissell’s lighter build gives it the edge. Your arms will thank you later!

Tank Capacity

Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Tank Capacity

Tank size dictates how long you can clean before pausing to refill or empty. The Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution comes through with a 1-gallon clean water tank and 1-gallon dirty water tank, meaning you can power through big messes without constant pit stops. On the flip side, the Shark CarpetXpert has 0.53-gallon clean tank and 0.23-gallon dirty tank, so you’ll be refilling and emptying more often—a bit of a buzzkill if you’re tackling a whole-house deep clean.

If you love efficiency (or just hate interruptions), Bissell’s larger tanks give it a clear advantage. More cleaning, less refilling. That’s a win in my book.

Cleaning Power

Shark CarpetXpert Cleaning Power

Suction power and brush design are what separate a so-so carpet cleaner from a deep-cleaning powerhouse. The Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution brings Dual DirtLifter PowerBrushes to the game, scrubbing deep with two rows of bristles and 6.8 amps of power to lift dirt and debris stuck in your carpets. It’s like giving your floors a deep massage, great for refreshing the whole carpet.

The Shark CarpetXpert, on the other hand, cranks things up with 9 amps of suction and its StainStriker tech, a fast-spinning single roller paired with a dual-chemical spray to knock out stubborn stains.

If you’re dealing with heavy-duty messes like pet accidents or mystery spills (we’ve all had them), Shark’s raw power has the edge. But if your goal is all-over carpet revival, Bissell’s dual-brush action delivers a solid win.

Hose and Attachments

Shark CarpetXpert Hose and Attachments

Versatility is a game-changer when you’re tackling stairs, upholstery, and those annoying tight spots where dirt loves to hide. The Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution comes with a 7-ft detachable hose and a 3-inch stain tool, which gets the job done but does require a little setup each time.

The Shark CarpetXpert, however, takes convenience up a notch with a 7-ft onboard hose, that’s always attached and ready to go, no fumbling around when you need to switch to detail cleaning. Plus, it comes with a specialized pet urine brush and a crevice tool to tackle pet accidents and hard-to-reach areas. If instant access and targeted cleaning tools matter to you, Shark’s got the edge.

Bottom line? Bissell offers solid versatility, but Shark makes it easier and faster to switch between tasks.

Our Pick

Shark CarpetXpert

After testing both, Shark CarpetXpert takes the win! The crazy strong suction, StainStriker tech, and always-ready onboard hose make it a total stain-busting beast—perfect if you’ve got pets, kids, or just a habit of spilling coffee (no judgment).

Yeah, the smaller tanks mean more refills, but honestly? That’s a small trade-off for the sheer cleaning muscle and convenience Shark brings to the table. If you want a machine that works fast and gets the job done, Shark’s the way to go!

Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution

I read a lot of reviews, wasn't sure what to purchase or how good it would be. This machine is amazing! It may sound disgusting however, follow directions for deep cleaning, the clean solution goes down, back and forth twice at a slow pace, and the amount of black water being sucked up from the rug was shocking and amazing. This is not like rug shampooers from years ago that kind of swirl bristles and wet the rug . This is a methodical cleaning machine . You can see the difference from where you just went over the rug and where you are heading. The solution is heated, the rug is not wet when done, and the results are satisfying Pros: Easy to put together. Easy to operate Powerful suction which leaves the rug only slightly damp Pulls dirt from deep down Rugs appear much cleaner, major stains removed, traffic areas look clean Pet accidents /slight stains totally removed Easy to clean the machine The tool they provide to clean the machine is excellent Cons: Slightly heavy to maneuver, picturing someone lighter using it. Uses up a good amount of cleaning product, however it cleans very well so... Cleaner has a distinct and overpowering chemical smell- dissipates in a few hours The dirty water compartment could hold more water with less emptying but it's not all that bad.

I love this thing! Cleans super well! One complaint is that you have to empty the tank a lot. If you fill the clean water reservoir all the way for deep clean you’ll have to empty the dirty water tank halfway through before the clean tank is empty. Would be nice if the tank was able to hold all the dirty water from a full clean tank so you didn’t have to stop and empty it. It is loud, louder than a vacuum, but I wouldn’t expect it to be quiet. I used it while my 13mo was sleeping in the other room and she didn’t wake up so good enough for me. The antibacterial solution that comes with it kind of stinks, I’m not sure what exactly the smell is, but it’s not great. It goes away eventually though. Overall I think this is a great machine for the price! Very easy to assemble and figure out, you hear the suction noise change and sound kind of clogged when it’s time to empty the dirty water tank. After my area rug dried I did find that in some spots I could feel a residue from the cleaning solution on it, in the future I will make a final pass with just water in hopes of removing any remaining residue of the cleaning solution. The handheld attachments are very easy to use. I cleaned a very dirty ottoman that my kid uses as a snack table and it worked wonders on it. The water that comes out of the handheld hose is not heated but it works very well. End result was a very clean ottoman and a tank of very brown water, after only about a 10 min clean. Very satisfied with this purchase!

Really pleased with my purchase. When I first took the deep cleaner out of the box, I was skeptical. It's made mostly out of plastic and seemed a little flimsy. I wasn't sure how well it would hold up. But honestly, I'm pretty impressed. Pros: - This is a light machine. Even with liquids in the tank, it's easy to move around. - The agitating brushes and the suction are excellent. The filth that came out of my entry rug inside my front door was impressive. I went over the rug several times and it just kept pulling dirt out. - The machine is very easy to clean and maintain. There are some thoughtful design decisions that make cleanup a breeze. - Although my initial impression is that the machine is flimsy, the light weight is a positive thing-- especially if you're hauling up and down stairs. Neutral Thoughts: - Not sure how well the "ProHeat" works. I only cleaned a small runner rug. So, there was hardly time for the cleaning solution to cool. In fact, I'm not sure the "ProHeat" feature is much of a selling point for me. See "Cons" for more. - The price is a little high, but you do get several attachments for cleaning stairs and deep cleaning carpet stains. Cons: - Regarding "ProHeat", it's an essentially useless feature if you're going to use your solution immediately (with hot water from the tap). - The dirty water tank is tiny. They make it look like it should hold a gallon or so, but if you look at the side of the tank, the "Full" line is only about 40% of the total volume of the tank. - Because of the small dirty water tank, you'll be emptying the tank frequently on larger deep cleaning jobs. Anyway, despite some of the "cons" of this machine, I would recommend it. I didn't want to use a nasty rented carpet cleaner (who knows where it's been). Since I have an entire second floor that's carpeted, as well as several area rugs on the first floor of my home, investing in a carpet cleaning machine made sense.

It didn’t pass a turd test…💁. My dogs have a washable pee pad. I put very expensive disposable and scented pee pads on top of the washable one. Before you place judgement on the idea I put pee pads in my washing machine, know that I own two sets of washers and dryers. One for people stuff and one for pet stuff and lightweight rugs. So back to my story… I accidentally stepped on a tiny dog turd. Didn’t know it and ended making about 4 turd tracks on my carpet. The majority of the turd was still stuck to my flip flop but I left turd tracks behind. Sigh. So I got out my machine and BioKleen to get it up. Well…. My machine couldn’t do the job. I had to get out my handheld Bissell pet cleaner to get it up. I’m a little disappointed…I guess I can’t have everything. 💁 Original Review: Where do I start..? I already owned the regular Pro Heat and decided to purchase the Turbo because I really wanted a machine that would suck up more water from my carpeting. Both machines work great but not gonna lie, the Turbo exceeded my expectations! I have two dogs. One is a senior and the other is a puppy. As you can imagine, both have accidents in my house. Wish they didn’t but they do. My carpet in my bedroom takes a beating from them because that’s where they hang out at when I’m at work and of course they sleep with me so they are in my bedroom throughout the night. Needless to say, my carpet can be a little stinky at times. Drives me nuts but I love my dogs. What to do… Sigh. 🤷‍♀️ I heavily sprayed my carpet with BioClean enzyme carpet cleaner. I let it dry. Then I used my new Turbo machine with the Bissell anti-bacterial cleaning solution. Set my machine on Max Clean and went to cleaning. The machine did a Fantastic job! It sucked up more water from the carpets than my regular Pro Heat. Just what I wanted! Turbo Machine: 1). Loud just like the regular Pro Heat 2). Definitely sucks up more water from the carpeting. I heavily cleaned my carpet and it was dry by the next morning. That was never the case with the regular Pro Heat. 3). I love the three cleaning options: Express Clean, Deep Clean or Max Clean 4). Did an excellent job cleaning my carpets. No more stains or stinky pee pee smell. 5). Highly recommend. Easy to assemble, Easy to use, easy to clean up, and reasonably priced. Whether you have pets or not, this machine does an excellent job at cleaning carpets. If you are on the fence, don’t be. Put the Turbo in your cart and hit the Buy button. You won’t be disappointed. 👍🏻

Shark CarpetXpert

I love it! It works great, I like that it scrubs in forward motion and extracts when you pull back. It's nice not having to hold a trigger down to shampoo. It has a lower clearance so you can get under furniture, like a vacuum. It's lightweight, the wheels aren't spread wide so it maneuvers easily, and you can get up close to edges. The best part is that you can clean the machine completely when you're finished. I've had a Shark vacuum for 12 years and it works great, you can wash all of the parts, replace the filters and it looks fine. In the past we had a hoover carpet cleaner (top rated) and it was disgusting after 2 uses, hair stuck in extracter, hard to get it out. The new shark carpet cleaner, everything snaps off so you can rinse it off, the top of the brush cover lifts off so you can clean up carpet and hair. We have 4 little dogs and new carpet so it catches carpet fibers and hair, but it wipes right off. The cleaning solution smells so good, slightly citrus.

I was looking for a carpet cleaner that fit all that I was looking for and this one checked every box. 1. Ease of use: Using this cleaner was a breeze! Using the brush roll, this cleaner puts water down as you roll forward and picks up the water as you pull backwards. Drying mode pulls up even more water. No pushing a button to put water down. This cleaner puts enough water down as well too. 2. Ease of cleaning/maintenance: love how easy this cleaner is to keep clean. Parts unsnap for easy clean up and snap right back in place, making it easy to put back together. And the dirty water tank is super easy to clean out. No more complicated maintenance 3. Light weight: I came from using a very bulky cleaner that seemed like a chore just even pull out. This cleaners design is not only sleek but very easy to pull out anytime we need to. 4. Powerful: Shark has always been a great company when it comes to the suction power of their vacuums and this cleaner did not disappoint. 5. Value: what is more to say, it’s a shark, it is worth every penny. Added bonus, 3 different hand tool attachments.

I have owned a number of carpet cleaners and owned and used this one for 4 months before writing the review. I would definitely recommend this machine, no matter what cost level or system you are considering. Don't waste your money on a spot machine, expensive or cheap machine, just get a machine that is versatile; and this machine is. It is easy to use, but before you do, make sure you read the simple instructions. Tgis will ensure you understand how to use the machine versus the spot cleaner. Benefits of this machine- *spot cleaner-easy to use, does an excellent job and easy clean-up. The brush is rubber rather than bristles. When using this part of the machine, you only have to clean-up the spot unit, rather than the entire system, which is a big plus. Suction is very strong, leaving the carpet only lightly damp, allowing it to dry quickly. *Carpet system-light weight and easy to move. NO TRIGGER TO HOLD FOR SOAP DISPENSING!!!! Excellent suction leaving the carpet lightly damp. Therefore, no need to run fans to dry the carpet. Excellent area run cleaning. I can clean the area rugs, leaving it on the wood floor during cleaning and drying with no concern of soaking the through the rug and impacting the flooring. Cleaning up the system, is easy and you are able to remove all parts to clean up for the next use. The cleaning product has a very pleasant scent and does an excellent job. Downfalls, *the water tanks could be larger, *the initial cleaning solution provided could be larger. *Replacement of cleaning solution is not cheap and the availability is limited. Order some when you buy the machine. *the spot cleaner hose and unit storage is a bit annoying as it falls off often. Overall, I will tolerate the tank sizes, cleaning solution cost and the spot cleaning hose coming unattached for the superior job the system does!!!!!

I was going to buy the cheapest carpet cleaner they sell, but those small portable units are very hard to clean larger rugs. I'm so glad I went with this model because you can clean your carpets the same way you vacuum them. I was amazed how much dirt was sucked up because I thought our carpets were really clean! I would say it's a little tricky to learn, but after a few tries, you'll get the hang it. My trick was to use one pass to spray the carpet and then another pass to vacuum up the spray and dirt. It comes with enough cleaning product to do a few rugs, but you'll have to buy extra cleaner. I researched if you can just use any cleaner, but opt'd with the factory cleaning agents and they work really well and are not too expensive. You're probably not going to do it more than 2x a year and the cleaning liquid is concentrated so it goes a long way. This is not a product you can just use and park in your closet though. You'll need to take the cleaning parts off, clean them out and ensure they are dry before you store them. Otherwise you'll have a gross, hair/dirt infested mess to deal with the next time. The portable attachment works pretty well too if you want to do the arm of a chair or stairs.
