With the advancement of technology, chores like household cleaning are able to be undertaken by machines like robot vacuums. What were once highly expensive machines that customers could purchase, robot vacuums have begun to become more and more affordable as time goes on. Eventually, robot vacuums are available everywhere at an affordable price.

But that doesn’t mean all of them are going to be good. However, Xiaomi’s robot vacuums have an impressive track record, with millions of customers singing the praises of their robot vacuums. They have 3 separate categories for their robot vacuums: the E series, the S series, and the X series. The E series is what’s recommended for new users, while the S is for those who are familiar with Xiaomi. X, on the other hand, are for those who likes a little bit more power in their robot vacuums.

With that said, which one is actually the best out of the 3? Some may say X10, but you’ll be surprised to know that E10 and S10 have some tricks up their sleeves. This is the ultimate Xiaomi head to head comparison that will determine which is the best: E10 vs S10 vs X10.

Mapping

If you’re not familiar with what mapping is, it’s a term that is used for robot vacuums that remember the interior of your house. Originally, older robot vacuums will just go around your house and clean your floor while bumping into stuff. As time goes on, technology advances so that robot vacuums are now able to map out the interior of your house, allowing them to avoid spots that they will potentially bump into.

Seeing as how mapping is a very important feature, both the S10 and X10 have mapping in order to avoid damage to the robot vacuum. However, the E10 is an older model that unfortunately does not have mapping. Meaning that it will bump into anything that gets in its way.

While it does have an obstacle sensor that will detect if it will bump into something, it still has a chance of bumping into something as the obstacle sensor needs to detect it in close proximity first before it starts stopping.

Dustbin Capacity

The whole point of having a robot vacuum is to have it clean the floor while you are busy doing other things. With that said, you will naturally focus on looking for a robot vacuum that can suck in more and more dirty things. That’s why suction power is important: you don’t want a robot vacuum that can’t do its job with weak suction power.

Looking at our 3 Xiaomi robot vacuums, we can see that the E10, S10, X10 all have 4000 Pa. This means they can all suck in anything that’s on the floor with ease. However, what happens when their dust bin is full? You have to clean out the dust bin so they can continue cleaning, which can get tiresome. The E10 sports a fairly big 0.42 L dust bin, while the S10 and X10 both sport a smaller 0.25 L dust bin.

You would think that the E10 wins, right? Well, not really. The X10 might be the winner here because, while it does have a smaller dust bin on the vacuum, it has a dock that collects any dust in the vacuum itself. When the vacuum is full, the vacuum moves to the dock where it will use 17000 Pa to suck up anything inside the robot vacuum. After it finishes, the X10 then continues cleaning the area and will repeat the cycle until the dock is full.

No-Go Zones

When using robot vacuums, you will want them to clean the parts of the house you specifically place them in. When you place one in the living room, you will only want it to clean the living room. However, these things tend to go their own way and enter other rooms in the house to clean things. This can be avoidable by having no-go zones.

This is a feature that you can use on the app that will allow you to mark rooms in your house as no-go zones for your robot vacuums. Both the S10 and X10, being newer models with updated firmware and hardware, have the option to be programmed which rooms they are not allowed to go in. The E10, however, does not support feature this.

But, there is an older feature that the E10 has while the S10 and X10 don’t have. It’s called virtual barriers, and this is an older feature that requires you to use infa-red accessories or a special tape in order to prevent the E10 from going into rooms it’s not allowed to go in. While it’s similar to the no-go zones feature, it’s a hassle to do because you will need to buy separate items to get it to work, while the no-go zones is already in the app.

Our Pick

Looking at the results, it’s clear to see that the Xiaomi X10 is the best out of the three. It is a highly advanced and powerful robot vacuum that can do everything the E10 and S10 can do at a lower price. While it does consume more power and takes up more space (thanks to the dock container), the pros outweighs the cons.

Xiaomi E10

Love love this little machine! In all honesty, I’ve had it for over a year and never really used it - I was used to my broom and home vacuum and just generally forgot about this option, even though it lived in my living room. Fast forward a year and I now have a one year old who makes crumbs alllll over the house, 2 dogs that are always shedding, and the mi home has literally become my go-to cleaning tool every single morning. The dust pan is small, yes, but emptying it once during the cleaning cycle (it does both my living rooms and hallways and kitchen in one clean!) is way less effort than vacuuming myself and sweeping, so that’s the least of my worries! The only thing I did NOT like was that I could not find authentic filter replacements and yay - xiaomi finally added them to amazon!!! Anyways, get it, and use it - don’t wait 12 months like I did. LOL

Love it! I have had multiple Roombas, two Neatos, and a cheap ILIFE (terrible) and this vacuum is by far the best I've had. It maps out the area room by room and vacuums in a logical pattern the same way you would. The app is also great and shows progress in real time. We have a dog and cat and run the vac daily. Have had it for over 6mo and it's still going strong.

I have had this vacuum for over 1 year and my son has had the same vacuum for over 2 years. It is such a great vacuum and would highly recommend to anyone!! I have mine set to vacuum everyday at 11:00am and my floors are clean everyday!

The factory set up for this vacuum is in Mandarin, the same with the manual. English version is available in xiaomi website, but cannot print or download. Initially I had a hard time connecting the vacuum with my phone. Found out through Reddit that switching server to Singapore solved the problem. Vacuum works wonderful in general, pick up dog hair. I have a U shape house and the vacuum moves between adjacent rooms instead of finishing one room then go to the next room. Not sure why. Another minor issue is that it didn't go under my bed because it detected bed skirt as a wall. But overall, i am happy with this vacuum. Great value for the price, especially comparing to the high end product from Roomba

Xiaomi S10

The robot vacuums pretty well. It does not really wash, rather it “wets” the floor with a cloth. The tank is however large enough to wash 3 rooms (living room, bathroom and bedroom wash them without problems, even with plenty of water). It is however adequate for basic daily cleaning. It took me a while to get it connected to the home network (it only works with 2.4 GHz). It issues information only in English. The mapping works well (I had only a few difficulties delimiting the kitchen from the living room since the door is missing, but with a few attempts it is successful). Even in “silent” mode, it still emits some noise, while the neighbors from the house downstairs have assured me that they do not perceive the movement when I have it in operation (so it is possible to use it even in the evening without disturbing the neighbors). Overall value for money really good.

I've been using this device on my ground floor for a year now. He always manages the approx. 100 m2 very well. Even with horizontal bridges, it doesn't cause any problems. The app works great too. Now I've bought a second robot for the first floor. There is a thick rug here. He also masters it without any problems. An expensive Miele vacuum robot used to drive here. He just had problems. The investment in the new vacuum robot has paid off. Now they're both doing well and I'm very satisfied!

It is a robot that does not waste time... certain and fast movements, very deep, silent cleaning. The only flaw, its app. I find it a bit difficult to access the cleaning settings, especially when the cycle has started, it does not let you change settings, so you have to intervene from the station, for example, to call it back. I have looked for contacts, assistance for clarification, but at the moment there is nothing, everything is in the organizational phase. Surely they will do it promptly, since my impression is of great professionalism.

In total skepticism, I had to change my mind once I saw it in action, very happy with the purchase and most importantly, happy even the mother who, between cat hair and wood stove, had a lot to do every day; now, however, she has found a very good helper. The application is well done, even if like all things you have to get your hands on it to understand its full potential. I will also buy it for my house!!

Xiaomi X10

Excellent product, the robot vacuums and passes the floor well. I bought it because having a dog, especially when it molts, the house was always a disaster. Since we got the robot, the house has been cleaner. First he made a map of the house and divided it into rooms for me. So I can decide what treatment to do for each room. Excellent vacuuming and self-cleaning of the robot through the base.

This is the Xiaomi Vacuum X10 Robot. Think of a wonderful and efficient piece of equipment. It cleans the house to 100% perfection. I just get a few things out of the way for him to pass, turn on the app and he starts working, then I leave the house, I keep following his street route through the app and when I return home everything is very clean. I just really dust off the furniture. I highly recommend it. You can buy safely.

Within its limitations it does what is needed in a very efficient way, it's very worthwhile, but it has a high cost so take a good look at whether you are really willing, I don't regret having bought today I don't live without it, but if it had a better price I would be more satisfied.

I bought two of them, one for my main and second home. I am very satisfied with the suction cleaning, noise level, etc.. He easily runs over rugs and small heels. He also makes corners quite well. Wiping performance not yet tested, just need it to vacuum. A valuable help for me.
