Detailed Comparison X10 Plus & S8 Pro Ultra

Cleaning Performance

It all comes down to which robot vacuum cleans your house better. All of this depends on the suction power and mopping technology of the robot vacuum.

Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X10 Plus equipped with 4,000 Pa suction power and 4 levels of suction does a pretty amazing job of vacuuming hard floors. You can get rid of all the crumbs and dirt from the floors with the Strong mode. The Turbo mode is suitable for carpets but might leave some pet hair behind making it unfit for deep cleaning on carpets. The mopping pads spin at 180 rpm with 3 water levels. The High level is outstanding in removing stubborn stains off the floor and adding a sheen to it.

On the other hand, Roborock S8 Pro Ultra comes with 6,000 Pa suction power and 5 suction levels suitable for all floors and carpets. The strong suction cleans even the dirtiest of carpets especially suitable for people with furry friends.

To be honest, while the Roborock has a far superior suction power, I struggle to see whether this additional suction power will be used frequently by most people. The X10 Plus is easily powerful enough.

Tank Capacities

The whole point of going for a robot vacuum is automating cleaning your home. It’s the “hassle-free” option when choosing vacuums. Turn on your vacuum and forget about it. Well, thanks to in-built tanks in the docking stations for both vacuums, you can forget about your robot vacuum for weeks at a time.

As we outlined in the specs above, the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra has higher-capacity tanks for fresh and dirty water, albeit having a same-capacity tank for dust, which is 2.5 L, same as the Xiaomi X10+. To be honest, both vacuums will last a while before needed maintenance (i.e. taking out the dust bin, refilling the water tank, and dumping the dirty water). But, we got to give credit where credit is due, the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is truly an “ultra” performer in the tank capacity category.

Connectivity

Both the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X10+ and the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra score high for connectivity and home assistant integration. While information is scarce on which home assistant systems are supported with these vacuums, in our experience, they’ll work with most home assistants even if they aren’t listed officially. Anyways, the Xiaomi X10+ can connect through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi as opposed to only Wi-Fi with the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra.

However, most people will connect through Wi-Fi either way, so I would say that both robot vacuums do well in this category. All to say that if you choose either vacuum, connectivity should not be an issue.

Battery

Both the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X10 Plus and the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra score high in this category. Both of them come with a 5,200 mAh battery, but the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is far superior! It can achieve a whopping 180 minutes of usage.

However, it is important to take those “180 minutes” with a grain of salt. Your milage may vary depending on how the robot vacuum is used, the state of the terrain, and other external factors. We tested both on clean floor in an 50m2 apartment and the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X10+ managed 127 minutes and the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra managed 145 minutes.

DISCLAIMER: We weren’t trying to achieve the same conditions with both robot vacuums, i.e. we didn’t use the same modes and sometimes used higher settings on the Xiaomi X10 Plus and vice versa. The results from this test are far from perfect because we were simply testing out the robot vacuums. But anyways, both vacuums are solid performers in this category but it’s a clear victory for the Roborock.

A universal wet/dry vacuum cleaner that doesn't need to be afraid of comparison. I have studied it intensively, the possibilities of use are much more diverse as described, the device delivers impeccable results in hot mode. Dry the floor within a short period of time if you do not move directly behind the vacuum cleaner when mopping/vacuuming, streak-free, best results in hot mode. I bought the all-in-one station on offer and I don't regret choosing the complete package for a second. The self-cleaning function at the end of a cleaning session is worth the money, no high water consumption for cleaning the roller, the subsequent drying function of the roller is great. The device is quickly ready for use, even stains that were virtually impossible to remove before will disappear if the fingernail has to be removed discreetly afterwards. I particularly like the gentle cleaning of high-quality patio tiles, which are massively protected compared to high-pressure washers, and the surface is much nicer than with a high-pressure cleaner. This aspect has hardly been considered at all to date. For me, a top device from Xiaomi, I would buy it again anytime and I am impressed as well as by many other products from this company.

The device has worked very well so far and does its job significantly Quieter than my 5 year old Xiaomi vacuum cleaner. Negatively noticed so far: - When wiping, a strip of 5 cm on the side remains untouched (e.g. to the wall or objects around which a mop has been wiped. - The increase in suction power when carpet is detected cannot be switched off - Disposable bags in the suction station - The automatic drying process of the wiper pads after mopping takes several hours and is an irresponsible energy guzzler. I'd rather remove the pads myself, wash them out again and let them air dry. Drying can be stopped manually in the app, but cannot be deactivated permanently. So far, the device has run twice through my apartment and has required approx. 70 minutes each for an accessible area of 60m².

As the title suggests, the product is really great but due to the malfunction of the water not coming out during washing I had to return it. It vacuums well but unfortunately it didn't wash. Excellent mapping and easy to use the app.

Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

I've owned multiple Ecovac robot vacuums, and I finally had enough of their issues to try something new. So far, I'm extremely happy with the Roborock. The vacuum is way more intelligent. It doesn't get stuck at all like the Ecovac I had, which would go haywire and back into everything. The Roborock also has many settings you can tweak to fit your life and house. I have a mix of carpet and hard floors and even the actual cleaning function has been hands down better than my previous vacuums. The big test will be to see how the longevity of the dock and vacuum hold up over the next year. However, after a solid 3-4 weeks of vacuum cleaning daily, everything has been working great. I've also not had any issues with the map freaking out and disappearing or creating a new one. I had this problem every other day with the Ecovac and had to go through, delete the map, and have it start all over. It was really interesting as well to see how the Roborock can identify objects correctly; for example, it showed on the map that it had detected an actual shoe that one of my kids had left out.

a bit expensive, but it does everything I want it to...it maps out my unit and divides into different section so that I can customize the cleaning in each area. Cleans mops well! I program it to clean my place several times a week, all I just to do is add clean water, dump dirty water once a week, and replace dust bag as needed. Highly recommended!

I've had the S8 Ultra Pro for almost 3 months now, and it's the best all-around robot vacuum I own. I also run 3 other robots: the Ecovac Deebot T8 AIVI, an iRobot J7+ combo, and another iRobot J7+. The S8 Ultra excels in several categories: 1. Reliability: It doesn't get stuck or lost, with the Ecovac T8 as a close second. The iRobots often require placement on the dock at least once a week. 2. App and Mapping: The S8 has the best app and mapping capabilities, with the iRobot coming in a distant second. The Ecovac T8 struggles with mapping as they get deleted randomly. 3. Mopping: The S8 is the best mopping robot, while the iRobot J7+ combo falls way short in this aspect. 4. Vacuuming: The S8 excels in all-round vacuuming, although the iRobots perform better on carpet, and the Ecovac T8 is slightly better on hard floors. 5. Dock: The S8 boasts the best dock, whereas the Ecovac T8 has the worst. 6. Navigation: The S8 has the best navigation, with the Ecovac T8 as a close second, while iRobot's navigation is subpar. 7. Obstacle Avoidance: Surprisingly, the iRobot performs best in obstacle avoidance, but it tends to bump into walls and furniture. The S8 and Ecovac T8 rarely touch any obstacles. However, there was a disappointing incident when my S8 vacuum ran over a pet mess. After cleaning it thoroughly, it's back in action. But it’s frustrating my very expensive robot failed with the pet waist. Overall, the S8 remains the best robot in my collection, but I wish the liquid bins were larger as I have to fill/empty them every two cycles. Doubling their size would be ideal.
